APOD: Jupiter drawn by hand and animated

It’s been too long since I added anything! Woops!

Today’s APOD is worth a visit. The following images are hand-drawn observations of Jupiter taken at the eye piece of a telescope; what an amazing talent. It’s beautiful to see such a crisp and detailed image of the planet!

Taking it even further, a fellow named Pascal Chauvet took these images and animated them into a simulation of the planet as it might be observed as it rotated. Too fine!

Thanks again NASA!
